The Legacy of Mary Mitchell Slessor
She first set her foot in Nigeria in September 1876 and devoted her life to missions, self-sacrificing service and social work in communities that make up present day Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Ebonyi and Abia states. For the success of her works, she earned the title “The White Queen of Okoyong”, as she came to be known in Great Britain.

It is the considered opinion of the promoter of this project that the sacrifice of Love for humanity exhibited by Mary Mitchel Slessor that led to the termination and containment of the twins infanticide is worthy of commendation and commemoration.
